"A" Team Loses the Semi-Final Home Leg - June 14, 2009

The "A" youth team (1990-91) lost the home leg of the national semi-final against Steaua Bucharest, 3-4. Paul Dirjan scored first for CFR with a nice shot from the edge of the box after Marian Pop and Cucuruzan both could not find the target.  Steaua then somehow managed to score three unanswered in the first half after several dreadful defensive errors. The score at the break was 1-3. The youngsters came out from the dressing room much more determined and were the better side in the final 45 minutes.

Second Youth Team Barely Misses Advancing - June 12, 2009

CFR's second oldest junior team (born 1992-1993) failed to reach the regional final, after a goalless draw against Timisoara and a 2-0 victory over CSS Slatina. Timisoara defeated Slatina 3-0, so based on a superior goal-difference they, not CFR, will move on. So, the "B" youth end their season in a somewhat disappointing manner, but they certainly played well overall and showed few signs of weakness.
