Commando Gruia and KVSC are the main CFR Cluj fan clubs. Both groups of fans support their team fanatically during home and away games. 

Founded in 2006, KVSC's slogan is "Incredibili şi Unici din Pasiune!", which translates roughly into "We are incredible and Unique because of our Passion!" Commando Gruia was founded in 2002, and its slogan is "Un secol de traditie", which means "A century of tradition".

As C.F.R.'s fortunes have continued to rise over the last several years, the club attracts new supporters in ever increasing numbers. These fans come not only from Cluj, but also from all of Transylvania, Romania and beyond. 

CFR's fan base has expanded to include not only people from outside Cluj, but also people from many different walks of life, ages, and beliefs. Anybody who is passionate about football is welcome at Dr. Constantin Radulescu Stadium.

As kick-off time approaches, more and more people choose to gather at Dr. Constantin Radulescu Stadium. The atmosphere, unlike at most other stadiums in Romania, is civil and yet overwhelming at times. This has resulted in many fans actually bringing their families to the game.

Over the past three seasons, CFR has consistently ranked in third spot of all the clubs in Romania, when the number of spectators at home were added up.

C.F.R.'s fans are well known to be tolerant and progressive, accepting anyone of any ethnicity into their ranks. Romanians, Hungarians and others are all welcome to come and see a great football match.

Rivalry with Universitatea Cluj

Universitatea is, alongside CFR, one of Cluj`s two major football clubs. Due to this proximity, as well for as historical reasons, the club`s fans have developed a fierce rivalry. Unfortunately, this rivalry has on occasion turned violent especially during the past several years. 

Overall though, most football fans in Cluj choose to ignore the foolish, petty bickering that occurs between the more extreme fans. Instead, they support both CFR and Universitatea. THIS is true local patriotism, not the hooliganism and violence which has sadly become so common in the world of football today.
